Blink. Blink.  So, um…ABOUT what? me? jumbleberry jam? this blog? nanowire batteries?  Ok, here goes…

Me – I like rain, red wine, dark chocolate, naked baby cuddles, JumbleSpouse, hedgehogs, books, vegan baking, distance running at slow speeds, world travel, peanut butter and the colour orange.

Me – I don’t like game night, country music, multi-coloured Christmas lights, celery, sweat, housecleaning, clutter, Muriel’s Wedding, world hunger, cotton balls, fashion, shouting or the colour turquoise.

Jumbleberry Jam – I chose this name for my blog while listening to this episode of The Splendid Table.  Nigella Lawson was explaining how the last fruits of summer are gathered to create jumbleberry jam at the end of the season.  Anything involving the “last of summer” resonates with me (add summer to my “don’t like” list). And, I somehow predicted it would come to this – no theme, just a random jumble.  I also liked the sweet sound (and taste) of homemade jumbleberry jam.  The fact that it’s not a common thing in the U.S. only added to the appeal .

Blog – It’s a bit of a jumble.  No consistent theme (as much as I wanted one).  Right now I’m rediscovering my old (pre-Son) self and thinking about how I will reincarnate from here.  So, there will be talk of parenting, vegan food (lots of food – add gourmet food to my “like” list), books, creativity, spirituality, simple/natural living and maybe even some socio-economic issues like women and the right to food, food sovereignty and local agro-food systems.

Nanowire batteries – Very cool new devices that could help eliviate oil dependency.  I only know about them (like most things) because JumbleSpouse is Wiki-incarnated.  And he can make seemingly uninteresting, random factoids quite fascinating, and even the most complex things accessible to minds like mine.
